new at six parents from an Atlanta Elementary School tell us their children were hurt in a bus crash but the driver never told them Channel 2’s investigative reporter Mark Winnie is live in Northwest Atlanta that’s where the parents are questioning how the school system handled this incident Mark we’re told parents uh called the police on that we’ve not been able to determine if the bus driver ever did uh this accident report indicates uh three students were taken to Hugh Spalding hospital we do not believe their injuries were serious uh and that they have been released but the big issue here is notification to parents I looked at him and he had a knot on his head I said baby did you hit your head he said Mom I hit my head on the window three times I noticed it was knot on her head she was like Mama the bus hit a stop sign and it kept going it went up the the sidewalk and it kept going Patricia Williams and kanana Harris the kids get off the bus they hopping and limping say angry an Atlanta Public Schools bus driver did not stop and call them after allegedly running over a stop sign and a curb Friday January 17th as he carried their children home from Bethune Elementary School finally my child got home he was in an uproar he he was very upset they say they learned about it after their children got off the bus at their stop 30 minutes late with two of Miss Harris’s children and M Williams 6-year-old actually when he dropped the kids off he kept going he kept going and inent report suggests the driver said he heard in the rear of the bus somebody has a gun children ran to the front and fell causing him to slightly lose control and strike a curb and a stop sign it says the gun was a cap gun I’m going to advocate for them to make sure that their injuries to their children are taken care of and that the school actually responds to why they were so negligent in dealing with their kids lawyer Quinton Washington says the family’s got a letter from the principal date of January 21st it contains a similar account but Washington says he has serious questions about the official version Georgia law says that you don’t leave the scene of an accident theun Elementary right across the street from beautiful building SE at the Georgia World Congress Center so many of our viewers have passed right by this school we called a a number a document indicated was for the driver personal answer basically indicated he could not or would not comment and that I could call APS and Atlanta Public Schools postp person says the school system is still trying to verify information regarding this in so they could not comment much beyond that right now reporting live outside methun Elementary Mark Winnie channel to action news we have more details there was an incident involving this school back in September students said they saw a man waving a gun as their bus left Bon officials say the bus driver turned around to get an administrator but then didn’t see anything suspicious at the time parents told us they were concerned they were not notified
