media management is a huge consideration if you’re a celebrity or a public official and you’re going through a divorce because the media will look at your divorce and decide that is worthy of writing stories however those stories may have implications for years to come when children or other family members read about them I’m going to give you three strategies for media management if you’re going through a divorce and you’re a public official or a celebrity number one minimize your use of social media the more information that you have on social media the more it can be used in your divorce or custody proceeding two we work with the court system to make sure that all of the sensitive information regarding the parties is not public three we make sure that the case is handled in such a way that it does not generate newsworthy items that the court or that the media would be looking for to write stories about so we try to handle the case in such a way that it doesn’t create publicity because it’s a divorce that’s filed these are things that we’ve done over the years these are just three things that we’ve done over the years that have helped our clients manage getting through the difficult time of divorce if they’re a public official or a celebrity over the years we have employed effective media strategies if we’ve had to and dealing with sensitive issues such as divorce and custody and one of the things that we always do is we make sure sure that there’s a consistent message that we’re putting out in the media if we need to put information out in the media about a divorce or a custody situation with a client the second thing that we do is we also monitor the media to make sure that if we’re making a statement that the statement that we’re making is correctly and accurately represented in the media we make sure that we keep our relationships alive with people in the media so that if we’re bringing them a story or asking them not to prin a story that we have a greater weight with them which benefits our clients if we can get your case sealed or a gag order on the parties concerning a divorce and that order is violated then we can take up sanctions for the violations with the court and that could mean jail time or attorney fees or other sanctions the court could come up with to make sure that its order has not been violated
